Buckton Mill, Buckton, Leintwardine, Herefordshire

Description
Buckton Mill, believed to be of Saxon origins lies about ten miles west of the lovely Medieval market town of Ludlow. Grade II Listed, it has been sympathetically and comprehensively improved by the present and previous owners. Every care has been taken to retain as many features as possible whilst creating all modern day comforts.

It is understood the building was a working corn mill until the 1950s, after which it fell into disrepair. It was converted into a residence in the 1970s. It retains many of its original features including the working water wheel, the mill race, and the original internal mill workings, which are exposed.

You are welcomed into the home through a picket gate to the front door with covered porch. The accommodation is very flexible and could be altered to suit a buyer's own requirements. There is a large kitchen/breakfast room within which is an oil-fired Rayburn, an electric double oven, a gas hob and a dishwasher. Also on the ground floor is the extremely spacious dining room, with fireplace with log burner in situ. There is a glass screen through which some of the mill workings are visible which is a real feature of the home.

Stairs rise up to the first floor where there is a most impressive drawing room with two arched feature windows at either end and a log burner. The master bedroom with walk in wardrobe and ensuite shower/bathroom is also on the first floor.

Stairs lead to the second floor with two further bedrooms and a jack and jill shower room/bathroom serving each bedroom. There are stairs leading to the top floor which is a versatile space that could be used for a range of purposes such as office/storage space.

The gardens lie on the south side of the house. The main area is accessed over a foot bridge crossing the mill race. There is a lawn bordered by well stocked flower beds and at the rear is a productive vegetable and fruit garden. There are a couple of seating areas perfect for al fresco dining. Outbuildings include a large oak car port plus a large garage with ample height to fit a camper van/caravan with workshop.

Directions
Proceed out of Ludlow in a northerly direction along the A49. After about 2 miles turn left onto the A4113 road towards Leintwardine and Knighton. Carry on into Leintwardine, through the village, and turn right onto the A4113 Knighton road. At Walford take a right turn signposted Buckton and Adleymoor. Carry on along the lane, over a river bridge, and Buckton Mill is the first property on the left hand side.
