House For Rent £3,900
Whielden Street, Old Amersham HP7

Description
DESCRIPTION

It is no overstatement to describe Norton House as outstanding. Dating back to 1693, this property offers generous sized rooms and a wealth of history and character.

The superb symmetry of the house with its delightful brick elevations under a tiled roof with exposed beams and the many Georgian windows impresses you from the outset.

The spacious main kitchen breakfast room invites you out onto the terrace and the enclosed gardens beyond are magnificently welcoming - a great space to enjoy the outdoors whilst safe for smaller children. Basking in one of the most exclusive spots in the area, the terrace and garden match any belonging to the finest English country homes.

There is quality in every material and fitting; Inside is exemplary comfort. The details of the styling have been intelligently considered and planned ensuring the ultra-modern bathrooms and kitchen work effortlessly with the rest of the house.

There is no stylistic interruption in other areas either. Materials and finishes complement each other everywhere. Durable, tiled flooring to the kitchen matches every traditional feature to perfection: the fireplaces bring instant homeliness; and the dark beams and light wall colours work together pleasantly.

Six bedrooms – in both position and aspect – fulfil every requirement for these areas. Comfort meets space and these are an extension of the house's natural attractiveness. The master bedroom suite with en-suite leaves nothing wanting.

Expected in homes of this age, there are corners for different activities and adequate areas for storage. Books, music collections, gadgets or photographs will all find a suitable place to live.

And for residents it will feel like coming home at last. Safety, comfort, the familiarity of tradition and a building which welcomes you like an old family member.

Available 8th November 2023

LOCATION

There is a good reason why Old Amersham is such a desirable location – for couples, families, businesses, and TV and film companies.

An ancient market town, it is one of the few to hold an annual Charter Fair (each September) instated in the 13th century; it is the location for scenes in Four Weddings and a Funeral, episodes of Midsomer Murders and more recently Celebrity Masterchef; there are meeting and eating places to satisfy all tastes and educational facilities which are second to none in the country.

The location, which borders a rural landscape, also has a cosmopolitan feel that is enhanced by the boutique shops, independent retailers and coffee shops. A wider range of shopping and eating is in larger nearby towns such as Aylesbury, Watford and High Wycombe, which are all within a 35 minute drive of Old Amersham.

Essential links to London by road and rail are convenient and close by. Amersham Station is under a mile away and runs regular trains to London Marylebone on the Chiltern line (35 minutes) or the Metropolitan line into the heart of the City of London in a little over an hour.

The M40 and M25 are within ten minutes' drive from the property giving easy access to all other areas whether travelling in or further out.

Not to be underestimated are the delights of the local area. Open farms, museums, fetes, carnivals and farmers' markets make this thoroughly country but with a feel of being on the edge of the city.
