*Vendor's comments:* "When I moved down to Croydon, I was planning to be here for a few years, renovate the place and move on to north London. 20+ years later this has been my home.
Before I first moved in, the house needed renovating and I asked the builders to open up the space, especially to remove the chimney breasts which took up space in this mid-terraced 2-bed house. The chimney breast in the middle room meant the builders could not build a partition wall to the bathroom so I had it removed. It has opened up the space far more than I expected. The two double bedrooms are very spacious now for a mid-terraced house. The main bedroom has a king-sized bed in it and lots of space. The lean-to room next to the kitchen had some work done so that I could put the washing machine and freezer in there, freeing space in the gallery-type kitchen.
In the garden, I used to entertain with BBQ's and with the new high fences if you prefer privacy or entertaining then the enclosed low-maintenance garden will be ideal for you. I had a red maple tree planted when I first moved in, it was 3 feet tall.
I stayed in this home because of its close proximity to the centre of Croydon but more importantly for its transport links with the rail and tram. I was intending to move closer to work however after finding out it is less than 20 minutes into Victoria or London Bridge stations and is a fantastic link to Gatwick airport and further south, I stayed to snooze that extra 15 minutes in bed in the mornings!
There is a lot to be done with Croydon, with all the exciting development and modernisation planned. It is a very popular place with its; town centre shopping, proximity to Purley Way (yay for Wing Yips and Ikea) and transport links. Ideal for a quick shop in town, a short trip to a West End show in London, or a short hop to Gatwick airport for a big jump across the pond or further afield to relax in warmer climates. An ideal home for all ages from a first time buyer, a growing family, or a retiring couple."
