House For Sale £599,950
Chanctonbury, Ashington, West Sussex

Description
Tamagotchi, Furbies, Nokia 8210s. Some things from 1999 haven’t aged well - unlike this immaculate, much improved four bedroom detached house. It’s ready for your family to move in and enjoy life in this popular village that’s conveniently close to the A24.

This four bedroom detached started out as an impressive family home when it was built by Barratt Homes in 1999. Since then it’s been meticulously looked after, with thoughtful improvements and the addition of a family / sunroom, making it even more spacious and versatile.

There’s no shortage of options when the family wants to spend time together.

There’s a spacious sitting room with a bay at the front and French doors to the south facing sun trap rear garden.

There’s a separate dining room and a sleek, stylish fitted kitchen with integrated appliances.

Given that there’s also the family / sunroom (accessed from the garden or through the handy utility room), if formal dining isn’t your thing then you could look at opening up the kitchen and dining room to create a more open, sociable space for cooking and eating together.

If you work from home or just want somewhere quiet to make a call, you’ll appreciate the study at the front of the house (away from the more sociable spaces at the rear).

Upstairs are three double bedrooms (one with a stylish ensuite), a decent sized single bedroom and the family bathroom.

There’s a detached double garage (with parking in front for a couple of cars) which can also be accessed from the rear garden. Given that people rarely park their cars in the garage these days, it does give you the scope to put this to more practical use as a workshop or studio, or maybe crank up the fun by turning it into a games room or garden bar instead.

Outside has been just as well looked after as inside. The large south facing rear garden is perfect for entertaining or just spending time outdoors with family and friends. It has a choice of seating areas and a neat lawn.

Ashington is a popular village with lots going on. There’s a community centre, a Co-op and a pharmacy.

And if you really can’t face cooking you’ve got plenty of options. The welcoming Red Lion pub does great food and is only a five minute walk away or there’s the Golden Plaice takeaway or the excellent Curry Lounge just a short walk up London Road.

If you’re heading further afield, being just off the A24 means it doesn’t take long to reach the nearby towns and larger villages. Storrington is the closest. It’s less than 10 minutes drive away and if you’re wanting to hit the beach you can get to Worthing in around 25 minutes.

The local primary school is rated “Good” by Ofsted and is only a 10 minute walk away.

Older kids have further to travel to reach the two Steyning Grammar School sites ( rated “Good” ) but there’s a bus which picks up and drops off in the village.

Getting to Storrington, Worthing or Horsham is quick and easy but Ashington is also a fantastic base if you like getting out into the great outdoors. If you’re a walker, jogger or cyclist you can be out exploring the West Sussex countryside within minutes.

This large and impressive detached home may be over 20 years old but it’s in such great condition, it feels almost like a showhome. You could certainly move in and make yourselves at home without the need for any decorating or DIY.

But it does give you options if you want to put your own stamp on the place with further improvements in time.

I’m expecting plenty of interest, given the great condition and popular location, so don’t miss out - dial Ext 142 when calling to arrange a viewing.
