Situation
The Hithe, on which Shepherds Hoe is situated, is a mature development of houses on the edge of Rodborough Common, mainly dating from the 1950s, with generous sized plots and approached off an exclusive private road. Rodborough Common, which rises to over 600 ft above sea level, is owned by the National Trust and comprises a wide expanse of unspoilt common land above the steep-sided Golden Valley in an area designated as being of outstanding natural beauty.
