When we first walked in the lounge and saw how spacious and light it was, we knew we’d buy the apartment. We face South and have floor to ceiling windows, so the rooms are all filled with light even in the winter and we love the view out to our terrace and the landscaping. There is fantastic insulation, so we have rarely needed to use the heating and we don’t hear our neighbours at all. We have 3 good size double bedrooms, and the master even has enough space for our super king bed, we haven’t seen many apartments with such good-sized bedrooms.
We love our terrace and have been able to grow flowering plants, herbs and tomatoes every year as it is so sunny; we get the very last of the sun hitting it and have had many lovely evenings sitting and eating outside. Being on the corner facing the path we don’t get many people waking past and have made friends with the ones who walk their dog’s past. As the whole development is set away from a road it is a great place to have pets and our cats have loved exploring the outside areas and beyond to open space next to the development. (we also love that planning permission has been refused several times to projects on that land, so we know nothing is likely to get built there).
The location is really convenient as Anerley and Crystal Palace stations are within a short walk, really helpful as we commute in opposite directions, one of us into the City and one to Gatwick so we have appreciated the transport links. We have really enjoyed exploring the general area and love eating out in the Triangle and the Sunday market in the Crystal Palace park.
Finally, the development itself is just really lovely, construction was finished in 2019 and so most people moved in just before the lock downs and there was community spirt right from the start. There is Facebook group that most people use and there are always people ready to help cat sit, share parking spaces and giving away furniture.
Most of my old friends are confused that I am now friends with my neighbours and I think it is a testament to the best parts of living here that people are genuinely friendly and know each other, it’s not common in London and is one of the many things we will miss.

DIRECTIONS
Apple Yard is located just off William Booth Road, which is a quiet cul-de- sac which is situated just off the popular Anerley Road. The area is well served by amenities off the high street which include Crystal Palace Park and National Sports Center, local shops and cafes. Also conveniently placed for Anerley Rail and over ground which offers links to London and Canary Wharf.
