Comments from the owners:

Top 3 things you love about your home:

― I immediately fell in love with the large bay style windows in the property. Due to its ideal positioning the flat is light-filled throughout the day all year round. The bedroom and bathroom are north-east facing, which means the sunshine is the first thing to greet me in the morning.

― I have come to learn that windows in London bathrooms are a rarity, but not only does the flat have a large bathroom window, it is also perfectly located to let in all the natural light required for the morning routine.

― From midday the lounge and kitchen are filled with sunlight from the south-west facing bay windows - which at times has made working from home feel like being on holidays (minus the fact one actually had to work).

― Another big asset is the lounge's wooden floor, which elegantly fits with the architectural design of the property, is also a natural insulator as well as easy to clean and maintain.

― Finally, the communal garden is a wonderful retreat. It is surrounded by neighbouring gardens,i.e. away from any streets, and therefore, the ideal place to spend lazy summer hours lost in a book, watching the sky, or finally starting to grow your own organic fruit and veg.

Top 3 things you love about the area?

― The area has so much to offer that I am possibly not doing it any justice by limiting myself to three things, but my subjective list would be:

1. The parks:
― The property is located between four beautiful parks (Mountsfield Park, Lewisham Park, Manor Park and Manor House Gardens), which makes it a nature-connected gem within central London.

― Mountsfield Park is the largest of the four. It features colourful flower gardens, a pla area, an outdoor gym, walking trails, a bandstand, barbecue pits and a huge open field to have picnics and daydream. Regular events take place in the park (including concerts, community gardening etc) and the café under the giant Holm Oak serves outstanding Neapolitan sourdough pizzas and savoury pastries (including their own Mountsfield rolls) - amongst many other delicacies.

― Lewisham Park is a quiet retreat just off Lewisham high-street. It features many mature trees which provide a habitat for many birds and insects and in many parts wildflowers, trees and shrubs are left to grow naturally to preserve this characteristic.

― Especially at this time of the year, the cherry trees in the centre are in full bloom and birds are nesting in the boxes provided, which makes it an ideal place to enjoy some quiet time to observe nature (or go for a run).

― Manor Park is the smallest of the four and is indeed a former pig farm that sits on the banks of the Quaggy River, a clay stream, which provides nutrients for yellow flowering irises that in turn attract pollinators and dragonflies. The park otherwise offers a sunshine garden, sculptures, wildlife meadows and a wetland area.
― Finally, Manor House Gardens is possibly the most beautiful of the four, boasting a lake with water fountain and nature island, two newly installed LFA tennis courts, a multi-use ball court, outdoor gym equipment, a fenced and gated dog-exercise area, a community garden and wildflower and -herbmeadow, alongside a Grade II listed community library (which also hosts workshops, yoga and pilates classes and similar activities) and one of the best cafes in the area (Pistachios In The Park). Throughout the park signage and information posters highlight the ecology, species and variety of wild-life,flora, and fauna.

2. The shops and markets:

― Hither Green is located conveniently between Lewisham High Street and Shopping Centre and Catford Mews (both hosting a plethora of familiar high street names) and has an abundance of supermarkets and independentshops.

― These include all the main supermarkets (Tesco and Sainsburys local shops within five minutes walking distance, Aldi and Lidl a 20-minute walk or a short bus ride, a Tesco Superstore in the Catford Market complex, a Sainsburys' superstore just behind Manor House Gardens, as well as a 24/7 Morrisons just around the corner) but also a number of hidden gems:

Arlo Moe - coffee shop just around the corner with outstanding
coffee and service plus outdoor seating
Ed Baker - artisan bakery with amazing sourdough
Le Délice - French treats and delicacies served in cosy atmosphere
Found Hope Store - groceries, specialty coffee and drinks, all sold
with the aim of providing the best British produce sourced and sold
through sustainable and ethical business practices
Lewisham and Catford Food Markets - food from around the world
Good Thymes Supper Club - a more welcoming restaurant
experience in Ladywell
Zero Waste shop at Mission Green
Shop WithOut Packaging - organic zero waste shop in Lee
(Brazilian, Guyanese, Ghanaian, Indian, Cornish, Italian, Thai and
Spanish treats, street food and drinks - first Sunday of every month)

― Aside from that, the flat is a few minutes' walk from Woodlands Health Centre and the Abbotshall Healthy Lifestyle Center, which hosts the Corbett Community Library, and aims to educate about the area's heritage, continue to promote the values of community and preserving the area and its parks for the benefit of the residents, by offering green spaces and activities like football training and gardening classes.

3. The transport links:

― The property is a short walk from Hither Green station, which is conveniently connected to central London through a direct 10-minute service to London Bridge and 13-minute services to Charing Cross and Cannon Street.

― The bus network is also very good with easy access to Lewisham, Sydenham, Bromley, and Dulwich. Aside from that, the area features many schools, which generally makes the roads very safe for cycling, inline skating and running.
