1 bed Flat For Sale £485,000
Redchurch Street, East, London, E2

Description

Minimalist touches and white filled interiors welcome you, this apartment is a tranquil oasis away from the bustle of Shoreditch, as it is situated to the rear of the building away. Finished to a beautiful standard, it has been a wonderful home to the current owner for many years.

Dominating the apartment is the serene reception space with an open plan kitchen, walnut floors and clean lines that flow right through. The kitchen has fully integrated appliances, finished with rich white cabinetry matching the austere quality of the property. There is a wonderful feeling of calm in this space.

Glass bricks pleasantly disrupt the clean lines and throw light in from the far end, alongside the large Juliette balcony door, which can be opened fully on a warm summer/autumn evening to provide an urban view of the city

The bedroom is neatly tucked off the living area, with a sliding door that can fully open or close the space, maintaining that Shoreditch loft appeal, and built-in wardrobes with clever storage. A family bathroom, just the off the kitchen is finished in white tile and with a signature walk-in shower.

Redchurch Street is located in the hub of original Shoreditch and has a heady mixture of some of London’s diverse bars, clubs and restaurants, on your doorstep…you really are spoilt for choice.

The east branch of Dishoom, in our opinion amongst the best Indian restaurants in London, is around the corner, alongside Pizza East, one of the best pizza restaurants & bars in the area. Alpresso Coffee Bar, renowned for its superb coffee, is at the end of the block. Shoreditch House, one of the first locations of the luxury Soho House brand, is also only a 2 minutes walk away.

The list of public transport options is equally as extensive, with Shoreditch Overground 2 minutes away, connecting South East London to North London. Old Street Underground (Northern Line) is just under 10 minutes on foot, & Liverpool Street Station, which is your closest major hub in the heart of the city, is 16 minutes walk. You can pick up National Rail services or a wide selection of tube routes including Central, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan and Circle lines, as well as the Elizabeth Line, taking you straight through to Heathrow Airport.

Shoreditch as an area actually spans 3 boroughs, Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Islington which is quite rare for the city fringe. Right back to the 1500’s, it was home to the first ‘playhouse’ of the Elizabeathean era, so was always an area for creatives and upstarts (you can still see the original timbers of this theatre in the Globe Theatre in Southwark!).

Through to the 17th Century, the area became a textile powerhouse and in the 19th century famous for the furniture industry before declining severely in the late Victorian period creating poverty, crime and prostitution. The Blitz in WW2, only exacerbated the damage to the area.

After the infamous rise and fall Kray Twins, the area started to become known for being an cool city fringe hangout, a centre of fashion & the arts through the 70s & 80s. Independent boutiques opened up next to the old school Pie’n’Mash shops, and infamous warehouse raves become the norm right into the mid 90s. Artists and students flocked in their droves to the area attracted to the cheap property prices and rents.

Now the area has reached its zenith, and with its great edge of the city location it is now one of the most popular destinations in London to live, work and play.
