"Sellers Insight"
There are so many wonderful aspects to our home and living in Holbrook on the peninsula. The outside living is a dream, the garden a continual wonder, the inside such an expanse of glorious space and the village location all you could ever need.

Our home gives us the most amazing memories when family and friends all join us to make layer upon layer of memories. In the summer months we throw open the bi-fold glazing and the outside becomes one with the inside. In the winter, the log burner is a dream and draws everyone to gather around and in front of it. Christmases, when the whole family arrives are just magical, our home is a wonderful magnet for celebrations both big and small.

The nature that surrounds us is beautiful and, in my mind unmatched throughout the village, and I love sitting out on the terrace in the evening with a glass of red wine watching the sunset over the fields, and mother nature gives us such a wonderful spectacle of her blowsy reds and oranges, all of which change by the minute and you really can watch the sun setting until it drops out of sight behind the fields. Even if it is pouring with rain, the balcony above shields you from the downpour so that I still get to enjoy my wine and the sunset on the terrace.

I just love being able to step out of the front door and walk the amazing Suffolk countryside and enjoy the expansive skies. My favourite time to go out is towards the end of the day when I head up to Alton Water and there is no one around and I can pretend that the whole of the reservoir is mine (and the dog"s). Holbrook Creek is also just a short walk away and the views of the Stour are nothing short of stunning. I nearly forgot to mention the bluebell woods up the road from us and the carpet of lilac and cobalt blue in the Spring that beds the woodland floors. Just beautiful.

A quick walk to the local shops gives me everything I need and the Co-op is more like a delicatessen with its impressive range of produce from local small suppliers. The butchers always look after me when I"m in there buying meat for us and I highly recommend his rib of beef.

Our home has given us so many wonderful memories that we will always hold dear and close to our hearts as we move on to the next chapter of our lives.

One of the most sought after villages within Suffolk situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Holbrook is a thriving village within the Shotley peninsula standing between the banks of the Rivers Stour and Orwell. The village has two public houses, butchers, church, doctors surgery, Co-op store incorporating the Post Office and a village hall. The area is served by a pre-school playgroup, primary school and Holbrook Academy, which shares a site with the Peninsula Sports Centre.

In addition to a primary and high school, Holbrook is home to the Greenwich Trust's Royal Hospital School, with Ipswich High School in the nearby village of Woolverstone. This quiet rural Suffolk retreat hosts various community events and offers many countryside walks. Sailing facilities can be found at the nearby Alton Water and Woolverstone Marina approximately five miles distant from Ipswich, as well as Fox's Marina in Ipswich and the popular Heritage Coast.
